So I posted my AC Syndicate fic to AO3 like two days ago and it's already gotten as many comments, almost as many hits, and more than half the kudos of my next most recent wip, which has been up over a month.

I have so many mixed feelings. Like, obviously, I love the close-knit (read:ten person) emsider ship, but it's really nice to get comments from people who I don't talk to all day anyway, y'know? Plus, well... I mean, I'm a self-centered asshole who likes being told my work is good, so that's always nice. ><

The goddamn fic migration is done! I think? I still need to reread to tag themes more accurately, I think. And maybe fix ratings? I dunno. I'll figure it out eventually. And then I need to get back to actually writing.

yikes

I gotta feel bad for anyone who subscribed to me right as I made this blog, cause right now I'm just posting e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g I wrote this whole year, and that's a lot. Sorry. (I joined like three fandoms this year, okay? A lot happened, and a lot of writing was done.*)

On the plus side, if you like my ships and you haven't read my stuff before, you're being offered a brand-new buffet. For those of you who have already read my stuff, though: I apologize. You could always re-read? XD

*admittedly, most of the writing was done for the first fandom I joined this year; my first new fandom in a few years

If you've seen my AO3 tags, you know I can get weird about organization. Or if you know about my fc sideblog. Or my spreadsheet from the year of 365 movies.

Basically, I'm trying to decide how to organize tags on this blog, and how to deal with one shots vs. chaptered works -- if I should only tag the first chapter of longer works, if i should tag characters in the parts they appear in or just the overall work, if every chapter should get its own tags or if all subsequent chapters should just be tagged with project:x or whatever.

Right now I have the following for organization:
!fic
!i wrote this
char:____
ship:____
fandom:[media type]:[name]
theme:____
z:wip
z:completed
z:from the archives (for work that was originally posted a while ago or hasn't been continued for whatever reason)
unrelated (for non-works)

Should I make a [*start here] tag for first chapters? A [*one shot] tag for one shots? Or [1/1]? Interested in opinions if anyone has any to offer.

So I guess in reality I'm basically just copying over all my 'my writing' posts from Tumblr, but as I'm doing that I'm rereading some of the stuff I wrote this year and... like... I'm really happy with it. ^.^

I still love the first stuff I wrote for emsider in March when I discovered what a tiny little rarepair ship we are. I'm a bit less happy with my newest stuff, just cause I've never done second person before and it's still weird to me. Looking through my posts as well, I remember about that kidsider all grown up AU I wanted to write, and that I wanted to do some FEELINGS fic for Alex/Jonas (shhh don't judge me). I should also finish 6-2 for that emsider fae AU as well.

RP IN 2018

Also looking through my google docs for the year -- I came up with so many characters for goodreads RPs that never got air time. I was really proud of my work on them and kinda want to share, but they're so specific to the setting they were made for it seems a little off? And then it would basically just be their profiles since any threads I made with them idk if I should share without the permission of the people I threaded with. But also like... I miss some of those kiddos. I never got to play a bunch of them. And I didn't get to follow through on plans for most because the boards died out so quick (one of the reasons I don't really do goodreads RP anymore, things are abandoned really quickly and awesome ideas never get to be followed through on). But I would totally write those OCs again.

But also, I'm not an artist. So often my OCs are just... yknow... normal pb/fc people with interesting (I hope) stories attached. So it feels like a weird thing to share, even if I love the characters I create.

I'm kinda tempted to look for a RP group here on dreamwidth but ffff idk bro. I'm used to multi-para novella-style rp, can't do HTML to save my life, and am coming from invisionfree/proboards games of the late 2000s. I have never used LiveJournal or dreamwidth before, and while I love RP I hate to say it but I'm probably a bit of a snob. =/ But my poor depressed phoenix baby! And all the other deity kiddos I made for that group! I was so disappointed it died, I had some Big Plans. =[

I have no clue how to use this website. I never used LiveJournal. I have come here as part of the great Tumblr migration, and likely will just be cross-posting my original content here.

Be patient.

I know not what I do.
